Garden of Fire

Gardens have evolved throughout time as a product and signature of the epochal shift from nomadic to settled cultures. The use of fire in this garden evokes a time and space well beyond the boundaries of its suburban Sydney location.                 The Fire Garden brings the silent history of the Australian Landscape to life.

Aborigines have used fire throughout time as a tool to manage the landscape. More recently it is regarded as a source of fear and a possible threat to property.
