House on Harbour

The courtyard articulates the building volume. Its presence is felt not only from four sides but also from above and below. Plants overhanging light wells, form shadows, dancing like on a screen. The courtyard also echoes curves of the building, although this is in a less geometric and more empiric fashion. Attention to detail is clearly visible.

At the waterfront, there is lawn with an infinite edge. Whilst pools with an infinite edge are common, less so are lawns. The lawn area appears hovering directly above the harbour.

Local regulations dictated permeable paving through the entire garden. The ground is further unified by having one type of plant through the entire area – the native kidney weed groundcover.
