Thanatopolis, Garden of Memory
Two proposals for Thanatopolis Garden of Memory in Pennsylvania - 'Metronome' and 'Replay'.
'Metronome'
A grid of charred tree trunks standing in a forest clearing seeded with forget-me-nots, with ritualistic felling of the first row of remaining trunks, to be replaced by birch tree saplings. This was to be repeated every 5 years, until the 'time forest' showing generations was complete.
'Replay'
A clearing planted with wild strawberries, with excavated round hollows in which visitors leave birch tree seeds. Upon returning to the site, a visitor may find a seed they had sown, erupted to life as a sapling, in an ongoing race.
