Swimming pools are often stand-alone elements without any connection with the building; in this project in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, the water ties the building together with the pool. Seemingly originating from under the house it runs via a narrow water channel towards the pool where it falls over an infinite edge.
Two existing avocado trees define the edge of the deck that is basicalle a cover for the sizeable underground stormwater retention tank - a requirement from authorities, which also helps to water the garden. The deck is linked with a small laminated glass bridge lit from the bottom at night.
